Last year I promoted a new song from the Pacific Islands called, Oceania: A Hymn for the Pacific.  It is like the song, “We Are the World,” but for the Pacific. The song is sung in several Pacific languages by several famous singers of the Pacific region like Vanessa Quai, Laisa Vulakoro, and Justin Wellington. Through this song, the producers would like to advertise, highlight and honor the Pacific and its values.

Now, there is an official video to the song. View it here- right now.

The producers hope that this song will be a source of inspiration for all young Oceanian people. And for the first time ever in the Pacific, they have introduced sign language in the video clip thanks to Mr. Wallès Kotra Jr! Therefore, the song will be accessible for everyone.

The arrangements of Oceania were made by Igelese Ete who is considered to be one of the best arrangers and music producers of the Pacific region at the moment. He is also the Head of Performing Arts at the “Oceania Center” at the University of South Pacific in Fiji.

This Hymn for the Pacific, sung in several languages and by several singers of the Pacific region, represents all the facets of Oceania: Melanesia, Polynesia and Micronesia.

Give it a listen… and a watch!
