Festival of Pacific Arts Update

Recently, I came across a commentary article by Annabel Norman who is acting as an adviser for the Pacific Arts Festival that will be held in Honiara, Solomon Islands from July 1-14, 2012. Her article is a positive look at the preparations that are unfolding throughout the town despite the challenges the people of Honiara endure from day-to-day.

Here are some pictures that I took in April of the preparations that are currently unfolding. The first three photos were taken at the construction site of the main cultural village where most of the  festival will take place.

This last photo depicts a building being constructed on the grounds of the National Museum.
